My Military and Academic Journey

As a retired Colonel with 25 years of distinguished service in the United States Army, I’ve transitioned into a fulfilling academic career. My expertise in strategy development, crisis management, agile implementation, and inclusive leadership has made me a sought-after consultant and educator.

Experience and Awards

During my military service, I was honored with the Bronze Star Medal for my leadership in Iraq and Afghanistan. As a UH-60 Blackhawk Commander in Iraq, I demonstrated operational excellence, which I later applied to Medical Evacuation Support in Afghanistan. I also oversaw the development of an airbase for Afghanistan's helicopter training school. My commanding roles in the 82nd Airborne Division and achieving master aviator status in the UH-60 Blackhawk further highlight my leadership experience.

Academic Achievements and Teaching Philosophy

During my military career, I became a fellow at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, and Academy Professor of Systems Engineering at the US Military Academy at West Point and a Visiting Scholar at Harvard Business School. Currently, as a Senior Lecturer of Business Administration at Harvard, I have the privilege of sharing my knowledge globally through case studies that focus on operational leadership, emphasizing the integration of people, processes, and technology.

Research Focus and Educational Background

My research is primarily centered on innovations in technology and operations management, human capital development, inclusive leadership, and leading organizations through crisis. I hold an MS in Operations Research from the Naval Postgraduate School, a Master's in Operational Art and Science from the Air Command and Staff College, and a Doctorate of Business Administration in Technology and Operations Management from Harvard Business School.

My blend of academic expertise and deep leadership experience allows me to bring a versatile and committed approach to fostering inclusive leadership across diverse fields.
